The Lesser-Known Astra, but My Favorite
It seems the when anyone mentions Astra blades on shave forums, it's always the Platinum that gets the nod. Call me contrarian, but somehow I prefer the Superior Stainless: It's worked well in most of the razors I've used it in over the last few years, and superb in my current go-to-razor (Parker Variant). In addition to its performance, and a least as important, is its consistency: I've had otherwise-great blades from other sources vary in quality from batch to batch (and, once in a while, even from blades within the same batch), but this hasn't been an issue with the Super Stainless, at least so far. Add in a fair asking price, and I think we have a winner here. The only knock I can think of is availability: Super Safety Razors seems to be one of the *very* few e-tailers regularly stocking this, but now that I know they do, problem solved. :-)
