Don't Press!
As the name implies, this is a heavyweight razor, and you need to use a light touch. The weight of the razor does the work. You simply need to guide it. It's very well-made, and gives an exceptionally close shave, but you will need to adjust your technique if you're coming from a lighter razor. I recommend starting with blades more weighted for comfort until you're used to it.

Too light for me
For me, this is a razor of convenience--went I want to change blade quickly and don't have time for fine shaving work. I also prefer a heavier razor--at least 5 oz--so this is a liitle guy for me. Still, it is very attractive and convenient. I don't get the close shaves I get with my beefy gang, but it gets to share the shelf with them.

Parker 99R- Head Shaving
I purchased this off eBay from super safetyrazors the other day. At first I had just started using safety razors along with EJ89L. I’m a head shaver and wow what a super close cut with the Parker 99R. I love the weight and length of it as I shave my bald head. I started off with an Astra Blade Blue and finish off with the feather blade to clean up. It is sure fun to experiment with the different blades. I thought I would like the EJ 89L better on my head, but I was wrong the Parker 99R is a great shaving device for bald guys like me!

Classic Style and Great Build Quality
The Parker 99R has a classic look and excellent quality. It has some weight to it but isn't overly heavy. The handles offers enough length for even large hands to get a good grip when shaving. The butterfly opening is smooth and effortless.

What a difference from the disposables I've been using for a few months.I went cheap when my razor broke due to operator error(I dropped it) but you can bet I'll never do that again! This is the only way!

Great razor for the price
This is a very well constructed razor with good heft and well balanced. The chrome plating is very evenly applied, with only a little rippling on the end caps. The spiral grooves on the handle provide a good grip and the TTO mechanism operates smoothly. It's a mild to medium aggressive razor that provides a good shave. If you are looking for a well built, well priced modern TTO razor this is a great choice.

A good decision
The only reason I won't give this five stars is because I always believe there is room for improvement and nothing is absolutely perfect. That said I am enjoying this razor each and every day. The learning curve is fast, and with the right blade I am getting incredible shaves. Best of all I don't have to worry about throwing good money away on those expensive disposables anymore. Even my wife has been giving it a try now.
