*New for 2019* The Parker "Semi-Slant" double edge safety razor has the advantages of a slant bar razor (more cutting surface on each whisker due to the blade angle) without the aggressiveness and dramatic blade exposure associated with other slant razors. This razor delivers an incredibly close and comfortable shave.

Parker’s Semi-Slant safety razors are milder than the typical slant, combining the best of a slant razor and a conventional safety razor. Since the blade angle is torqued, this razor cuts the hair at an angle instead of straight on, resulting in a very efficient shave. A Semi-Slant razor is great for those with thicker, more coarse hair, as well as for wet shavers with sensitive skin. We recommended using very little pressure when shaving with our Semi-Slant for excellent results.

Press Mentions include Men's Journal, Sharpologist, Male Standard - "a kinder, gentler slant bar razor" "great for coarse hair & sensitive skin" "One of the best and most innovative razors for a close and comfortable shave"...

    Amazing Slant!

Posted by Barba Tradicional on Dec 14th 2023

Love slants, and this one is super efficient, well built and sturdy. Slants are usually highly recommended for people with coarse beard and sensitive skin for it's cutting power. It is not a super mild one, yet I think it is suited even for beginners.

    Finest Razor! Period

Posted by Patrick Bloise on Jul 16th 2022

The Parker 55SL semi slant razor is of the highest quality, in craftsmanship, in functionality, and in appearance/feel. It gives an absolutely perfect shave. Put a Parker blade in this baby and shave as you normally would, don’t try to compensate in any way for the slant. Just shave. You will get a wonderful, smooth, bbs, perfect shave. Every time! Honestly it is my favorite razor now. I have a Muhle, an Edwin Jagger, a Merkur, and a couple of others but this Parker is A Numero Uno! Get one. You will be getting a lifetime of perfect shaves! Thanks SuperSafetyRazors :)

    1st Slant Razor shave

Posted by Damon on Sep 14th 2020

Wow, is what I can say. I let my face get to be 4-5 days before using this today. This arrived on time and is a very sturdy good looking razor. I used shave oil, then taconic executive soap. This Parker 55Slant cuts like butter. It’s so much smoother shave than my eJ 89L. This does cut very close and you have to cut slow. I feel my face burn a little after using Astra Sp blade. I may dial back to regular Astra or Derby blade to see how they do. Overall great razor and excited to have this in my arsenal now.

    My first slant

Posted by Arthur Shorter on Jul 22nd 2019

Used my Parker 56SL for the first time. Being that it was my first slant the blade over hang had me nervous. Once I got over the initial nervousness of the over hang it was a non issue. The length and weight of the handle is excellent for both a face and head shave. I would highly recommend this razor as a first slant or one of multiple.

Nearly as good as my AS-D2

Posted by S. Michael on Jul 2nd 2019

I have TOO many razors about 20. I only use 5 regularly and always feel stupid when I buy a new one and only use it once or twice. I had 3 previous slant razors, a cheap plastic open comb one from Phoenix, and two "expensive" (~$140) slants from Icon and RazoRock respectively. I dislike all 3, as they irritate my face, again YMMV. I would sell my 2 expensive slants in a heartbeat. I do like Parker razors though. I feel that their 24/26C, 63S open comb razors are just about the best bang for the buck around. YMMV of course. I bought my Parker 55 SL-GR based on reviews. It works like a charm. It's very smooth and gave me a BBS shave. The smoothness was nearly as good as my AS-D2. My favorite razor $130 - my 2nd favorite $30 = savings of $100.

    Parker Semi Slant

Posted by Paul Francolini on Jul 1st 2019

I have four other slants and this one just sent to the top of the list. Extremely smooth and forgiving. I can even apply more pressure than I do with other razors and get a very close and comfortable shave with almost no irritation. AND it feels and looks terrific! I love the substantial knurling.

My first Slant. And a good one to start...

Posted by Augustin Jaime on Jun 27th 2019

I'll start off by saying that yes, this is my first slant razor that I've ever tried. Now, I'm not new to the wet shaving game as I have a modest collection of razors varying from straights, de's, injectors, and se's in both vintage and modern examples with some being made of exotic alloys and materials. The Parker 55SL might not be an exotic or premium alloy shaver but, it doesn't mean that it can't shave as good as those premium razors. Shaves every bit as good as them at a mere fraction of the cost. Quality of the razor head is nicely done with good tolerances in accepting, lining up and clamping the blade rigidly. And that's key to any razor no matter what it's made of. The head is designed in such a way that the blade is torqued evenly and the blade reveal and alignment is spot on at both sides of the razor head. It provided a smooth, mild but, deceptively efficient feeling shave that produced a near BBS finish first time out. Nothing to it as you just shave with it as you would with any standard de razor. It just cuts the hairs efficiently and at an angle that feels very comfortable and natural. I'm very impressed and pleasantly surprised at the quality shave and product that Parker has presented here. If you're looking for a slant that provides an easy but close and comfy shave at a very good entry level price, the Parker 55SL would be the perfect entry into the slant world. It cuts, it's comfy and it's super affordable. And SSR does just an exemplary job of getting these affordable razors and products out and to your door in record time. A really good economical razor brought to you by an exceptional vendor with outstanding customer service. Quality and value through and through......
