Phenomenal Razor, High Quality
This razor is now in my top two, my other Parker being the second. The quality of the craftsmanship is just top notch. It gives an awesome shave, just super smooth and effortless. The slant, semi slant, is perfect in my opinion. Superb knurling, beautiful color graphite gray handle, smooth perfect top and base. I cannot recommend this razor enough! I just received this razor yesterday afternoon, and used it for the first time this morning. I have to say that this razor did an excellent job the first pass, I could not believe it. I thought my Variant was King until I shaved with this one. They are very close in excellent performance. I think this one shaves just a touch better because of the blade angle. I am impressed by the performance and forgiveness of this razor, there is no reason to feel intimidated by the blade angle it is designed spot on. The Variant is excellent because of head design and adjustability. I would recommend this razor to anyone even if you have never used a slant before, it is mild, but cuts very efficiently.

Now that I’m using this 55SL razor more it’s getting closer to a 5 rating,,, it’s becoming harder to choose between the 55SL and the Variant,, both excellent, excellent razors. The Variant has the edge (no pun intended) over the 55SL because it’s adjustable but I like the 55SL’s handle length and the length of space that is above the knurled part (call it the neck area) before the head of the razor,, I think the space allows me to get a better grip,, but that’s my opinion. Just get one already,, and you’ll see it’s a great razor. I will be ordering a second 55SL soon.

Excellent Razor
First off, I can’t give this razor a 5 because the Variant razor in my opinion is a 5,,, I would give the 55SL a 4.5 rating,,, the feel, weight distribution, design and shave is excellent. It is on the aggressive side if you like that, I’ve adjusted my shave technique for this razor. Can’t go wrong with a Parker razor. I have 2 Variants (will buy a 3rd soon) and two other Parker’s including the 55SL and won’t switch to another brand.
